Chip seal turns gravel into a sealed road.

Also called tar and chip. We seal the gravel you already have under hot asphalt binder and crushed stone, so the dust and the mud stop.

  • A fraction of the cost of asphalt. Made for long drives and private roads, where hot-mix adds up fast.
  • Dry, hard, and sealed. The binder seals the base and the stone gives you a surface that stays put.
  • Grip with a country look. A natural stone finish that suits a farmhouse, a shop, or a barn lot.

Crushed stone, rolled in

Clean chips pressed into the binder. This is the surface you drive on and the grip you feel in the rain.

Hot asphalt binder

Sprayed hot across the full width. It glues the stone down and seals out the water.

Graded, compacted base

Your existing gravel, shaped and packed so water runs off the road instead of down it.

How we lay a chip seal

The same four passes on every job, in this order.

  1. Freshly graded gravel lane through bare hardwoods, ready to seal

    Grade

We shape and pack the base so the drive sheds water.

  2. Crew member spraying hot asphalt binder from a distributor truck on a rural drive

    Spray

A distributor truck lays hot binder across the full width.

  3. Dump truck spreading crushed stone chips over fresh black binder

    Spread

Crushed stone drops into the binder while it is still hot.

  4. Roller and crew finishing a red stone chip seal driveway

    Roll

Rollers lock the stone in. Loose chips are swept away.

Straight answers

What is chip seal?

Chip seal, also called tar and chip, is hot asphalt binder sprayed over a graded base with crushed stone spread into it and rolled tight. It turns a gravel drive or private road into a sealed surface with a natural stone look.

Chip seal or asphalt: which is right for me?

Chip seal is the budget-friendly way to end dust and mud on a gravel drive, and it is made for long drives and private roads. Asphalt costs more and gives a smooth black finish that suits home driveways and parking lots. Tell us what you have and we will tell you straight which fits.

How does the 20% off work?

It comes off any project, chip seal or asphalt, any size. We take it right off your quote.

Do you take commercial and industrial work?

Yes. We pave and chip seal for homes, businesses, and industrial sites: driveways, parking lots, private and access roads, yards, and pads.

Can I text you instead of calling?

Yes. Call or text (479) 259-4846, or send the quote form and we will reach out.

Do you work outside Van Buren?

Yes. We cover Fort Smith and the River Valley, Northwest Arkansas, the Ozarks and the Ouachita foothills, and Eastern Oklahoma. We travel farther for larger projects, so ask even if your town is not listed.
